Do you have to be an artist to use SketchCop® Facial Composite System software?

SketchCop® DOES NOT require you to have artistic skills to use our software. We have sketched everything for you. All you must do is conduct a proper interview and click the mouse to assemble your facial composite.

Is SketchCop® Facial Composite System software easy to use?

Yes, our software is VERY easy to use. It has an intuitive interface that is easy navigate.

Does SketchCop® Facial Composite System software run on a Mac operating system?

Yes, SketchCop® Face Design Software will run on a Mac O/S. The only requirement is that you purchase one of the many available bridge programs that allows you to run Windows programs.

How is SketchCop® Facial Composite System software different from other facial composite software?

SketchCop® Facial Composite System software is arguably one of the first facial composite software programs capable of yielding the same quality product offered by that of a police sketch artist. We also provide easy to use editing tools to give your image a finished appearance while increasing eyewitness satisfaction. Some competitors use photographic elements that DO NOT assemble well, leaving jagged or uneven lines between features. Which is more cost effective, a Police Sketch Artist or SketchCop® Facial Composite System software?

SketchCop® Facial Composite System software is a far more cost-effective force multiplier. It is LESS expensive to purchase a license and train your entire unit for 24/7 availability versus one person with limited availability.

Do you recommend the standard mouse, or a pen/graphic tablet & stylus?

It’s a matter of personal preference. I prefer the natural feel of holding a pencil so I prefer a tablet. Either way, you will want something in your hand that you are comfortable using as a drawing tool.

Which is better? Desktop vs. Laptop

Desktop Vs. Laptop It’s up to you. Many of our law enforcement clients purchase a license for both desktop and laptop. The desktop option allows you to control the interview environment by inviting the eyewitness to your office. You can also store completed digital composite images on your network, making them available to other members of the department. The laptop option allows you to respond in the field and take SketchCop® Facial Composite System software to your eyewitness in cases where they are unable to respond to you.

Do you offer facial components based upon race?

We prefer to allow the suspect’s ethnic background to develop organically through the eyewitness’ description. While some of our facial components may resemble characteristics of a particular ethnic group, they are co-mingled with others and are categorized by facial component type only.

Can you edit SketchCop® Facial Composite System software images in another program?

Yes, you can export the image into many of the popular photo editing programs.

Can I export SketchCop® Facial Composite System software images?

SketchCop® Facial Composite System Software digital composite images can be saved as a .BMP, .PNG or .JPEG file. SketchCop® Editor images can be saved as .BMP, .PNG, .GIF, JPEG or .SKF layered file. Any of these image files can later be opened in Adobe® PhotoShop®, Adobe® PhotoShop® Elements, Corel Painter, or Corel Painter Essentials.

Which is more effective: a police sketch artist or facial composite software?

Both are equally effective. Police Sketch Artists like to make the argument that they are superior to police composite sketch programs. At one time they may have been, but with SketchCop® Facial Composite System software; users now have a broader range of options.

How long does it take to create a facial composite using SketchCop® Facial Composite System software?

It all depends upon the length of time the interview takes. However, under ideal conditions a high-quality digital facial composite can be created using SketchCop® Facial Composite System software in as little as one hour. (This time is based upon the author’s previous experiences.)
