Over the years I’ve learned that most jobs are made easier by having the right tools. This is equally important in the computing world when you are trying to find the proper peripheral to help maximize your software experience.
When it comes to using SketchCop FACETTE software; I’ve found that a graphics tablet, with pen, is the perfect pointing device. I know from experience that many end users rarely give a graphics tablet serious consideration. Many believe that a graphics tablet was designed strictly for drawing. Most users have grown so accustomed to the standard computer mouse, they’ve probably never considered using anything else!
But, a graphics tablet is a pointing device that can be easily used by anyone. If you think about it, we’ve been using a pencil or pen to write and draw long before we began computing. Given the natural feel and the familiarity of a standard writing device, I would think that most people would intuitively adapt to using a graphics tablet/pen in place of a mouse.
I use a Wacom Graphire graphics tablet as my pointing device of choice. It connects to my laptop and I take it with me wherever I go. The device has a small footprint, an affordable price and it works great with SketchCop FACETTE. Other companies also manufacture and sell graphics tablets; however, I have been using Wacom Corporation products for many years and I prefer them over the others.
SketchCop FACETTE users should consider using a graphics tablet as their preferred pointing device. It’s no different than the pen or pencil you use everyday to write your name. And remember, you don’t have to be an artist to use SketchCop FACETTE. It’s my belief that using a graphics tablet/pen will make our paint and editing tools much easier and much more fun to use. You may also export your images into Adobe Photoshop and use the graphics tablet/pen to make further refinements in your composite image that will leave your eyewitnesses feeling much more satisfied. Combining a Wacom solution with SketchCop FACETTE will easily put you on equal footing with most Forensic Artists.
