Collectors wishing to authenticate their photos may submit them to us for facial comparison and analysis. We have experience with photos of alleged organized crime figures, sports celebrities, and western outlaws. If you are interested in hiring us to examine your photos, you will need to submit the following items: (Please note that we will not begin work until we receive the following)
- High-resolution, scanned copies of your photo(s).
- Sourced photos of known individuals verified or widely recognized as the person in question. (We will accept as many as you have.).
- Provenance establishing the veracity of your photo.
- Related expert analysis reports.
Things we don’t need.
- Client-generated facial comparisons using Photoshop.
- Emails trying to convince me why your photo is of Person X.
When I examine your photo, I conduct a morphological comparison and analysis, meaning I’m comparing the facial features of your photo against the person’s known photo.
Upon completion, I prepare a report with exhibits rendering my professional opinion using the scale below.
- There is strong support that it’s highly likely your photo is Person X.
- There is moderate support that it’s likely your photo is Person X.
- There is limited support that it’s likely your photo is Person X.
- I cannot confirm, nor rule out that your photo is Person X.
- Your photo is not Person X.
No one can say that one person depicted in a photo is the same person seen in another. There are too many variables to consider. I would be wary of someone who states that they could.
If you hire me and you’re dissatisfied with my findings, I invite you to seek another expert’s opinion. It won’t hurt my feelings at all, and emailing me afterwards to argue about my decision will not change my mind.
When you hire me to analyze and compare your photo, you are receiving an honest, unbiased expert opinion about a photo that might be worth millions, or maybe nothing.
I believe that there are more photos of famous or infamous persons in circulation, despite what their descendants, collectors, or historians believe. Who knows? You might have one!
